Divide and Rule
Divide and rule had been the legacy of notorious colonial period to
chastise the rebellious Muslims and Hindus. But our most energetic
district govt. has misconceived the philosophy and implemented it
in the management of electricity. Because of this policy the load
shedding period has been prolonged up to 36 hours. It has been the
habit our district govt to follow the policy of fire fighting
approach it never gone into the depth of problems to solve them.
Through these lines I would like to give some examples of the
electricity problem in my locality. One HT poll of PESCO fell in
Lawari Pass so the whole valley again drowned in to the abyss of
darkness. In Chitral we have a local power house which electrifying
the local area, to over come the shortage the previous PPP Govt.
also arrange a diesel power station lying inoperative for a long
time because of the unavailability of diesel. The diesel rates are
considerably to low now a days and our PESCO authorities can afford
the charges. Had the district govt pressed the high ups of PESCO to
run the thermal Power house, there would not have been such
problems of electricity. One unit of our local power house is also
not of order for the last three months. The booked spare parts are
lying in Peshawar air port to be delivered, but nobody takes
interest our active district govt neither the PIA and PESCO
authorities. Because of the mismanagement of district govt. plus
the in coordination among the PESCO, district govt. and PIA the
common man is the main loser. In such a freezing cold weather the
gas and fire wood also disappeared from the market. It is like the
bolt from the blue that we have incompetent authorities as well as
the natural phenomenon also added the miseries. I through these
humble worlds would like to put this suggestion in front of the
district govt. that such cosmetic arrangements would not be enough
and fire fighting approach should not be followed by our energetic
district govt. the govt. should have to go the roots of the
problems, to solve them on permanent basis.
