Is Chitral still a princely state

Dear Editor

This is with reference to the the report by Shah Murad Baig published on you esteemed online News page on the 25th June 2008. I just want to ask from Mr. Baig, Who has quoted some Garzi, whether Saiful Mulk still ruling Chitral? Are the elected representatives, the district assembly and most important the Chtrali people don't have the right to decided whether they accep POKHTON KHA as the new name of NWFP?

DHQ Hospital Chitral

The miserable condition of D.H.Q hospital Chitral invites the kind attention of concerned authorities it lacks basic health facilities, which are essential for the existence of any health care center. People from far-flung areas of the district bring their patients here for proper treatment, but they find lack of interests on the part of hospital staff. Medical and para medical staff of the hospital show indifferent attitude towards their patients. Ordinary cases are referred to Peshawar, which cause great trouble for the patients. People who visit this hospital, are usually poor, who cannot afford the expenditures of traveling to Peshawar. Rich people always prefer down districts hospitals and private clinics, therefore they do not need to visit Govt. hospitals.

D.H.Q hospital Chitral lacks modern equipments. Especially Laboratory equipments are out-dated. Medical officers of the hospital dont trust their laboratory reports and advise the patients to go nearby private laboratory for laboratory tests, because their reports are reliable.

I would also like to draw the attention of the authorities towards the poor conditions of cleanliness in the hospital. Clean wards, washrooms and office always help reduce the sufferings of the patients.
