From prison to prison
I would like to felicitate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani for assuming
the coveted office of Premiership at a crucial stage of our
national history. His book �Chahe Yousuf Se Sadaa� reminds me the
stature and caliber of a state man who has spent years and years in
prison, and he shares the agony of those who live like prisoners.
We the people of Chitral are prisoners not behind the bar, but
behind the mountains for six months in winter. Chitral is famous in
the local mythology for being a dungeon and prison of Solomon (PBUH)
who used to imprison devils and bandits among the fairies in Tarich
Mer valleys of this district. I, therefore request the worthy PM to
visit Chitral during Shandur Polo festival 7-9th July 2008, so that
he could see for himself the agony of prisoners in this natural
prison of mountains. Let it be a journey from prison to prison.
