Drugs free valley
According to the news published in different local newspaper in
Chitral, the Chitral police under the command of Inspector Muhammad
Khalid seized 105 liters liquor and 500 grams of hashish from
Orghoch road and also arrested three people in this connection. In
our district the people of Kalash valleys are allowed brewing
within the area and also our constitution gives them a cover as a
non-Muslim. But the people of the Kalash valleys are not allowed to
smuggle it to others parts of Chitral as a business. It is the
irony of ironies, that a lot of our youth consider these Kalash
valleys as a safe heaven for the use of local brew wine and
frequently visit these valleys. We through these lines appeal to
our youth, not to violate the Islamic code of life and hope the
police officer and official would continue their efforts and
struggle to make our Chitral as a �free drugs valley� and govt
should encourage these police officers as also provide substitute
source of livelihood for the people who are directly related to the
illegal business. The common man and specially the youth have to
help in this connection with law in forcing agencies to curb the
menace from our society. We through these lines appreciate the
young, educated police Inspector Muhammad Khalid his effort to
fight against the drag smugglers in Chitral and also hope that he
will continue his efforts in future too.
