Renaming NWFP
I am concerned about the news that the recently elected ANP
Govt in NWFP is going to change the name of the province. I think
giving and enthnic name to the province is not justified because it
is inhabited by people of diverse culture and origin. It will cause
a divide among the people. After all if they are really going to
change it, they should take everyone in confidence and choose a
unanimous name. The name suggested is very awkward and is
unacceptable to the ethnic minorities like Hazaras, Chitralis or
other in the southern part of the province. The newly elected
legislators of chitral should convey the concerns of the people of
chitral in their respective forums.
