Mail from Karachi for Haji Maghfirat Shah District Nazim chitral.
During his visit to Karachi in May 2007, Nazim Haji Maghfirat Shah
met Chitral Welfare Association Office Bearers, members and other
elders of Chitral living in Karachi. Quite a large number of
Chitralis were present to welcome Nazim and expressed their
happiness to be with their Nazim for the first time in Karahi.
District Nazim shared many happenings and projects running
currently and also that due for next year in Chitral. Chitralis
living in Karachi expressed their happiness & satisfaction with
peaceful environment and state of harmony in Chitral, Lowari Rail
Tunnel Project and monitoring the quality of some very important
projects like metalled road, irrigation channel & etc by public
representatives & City Government and at the same time expressed
concern over non implementation of the Chitral Package of 2.25
billion announced by the Chief Minister NWFP in 2004 and
blacktopping of Booni Shandur road with bridge on river Yarkhun at
Mastuj announced by President of Pakistan in 2005.
Through this mail Chitralis living in Karachi remind District Nazim
about some very important issues relating to Chitralis in Chitral
and thatin Karachi. These are as under:-
1. Establishment of Cadet College in Chitral.
District Nazim Chitral is requested to initiate and get approval of
Cadet College for Chitral from President Pervaiz Musharaf during
his visit to Chitral for Shandur Festival in July 07 and or move
application to his office in Rawalpindi.
2. Allotment of land in Karachi for residential colonies.
Accepting Chitral Nazim invitation, Chief Minister Sindh shall
hopefully be visiting Chitral for Shandur Festival this year as
indicated by Nazim during his meeting with elders in Karachi. Right
& high time for Nazim to please present a proposal requesting Chief
Minister to provide land for residential colonies to accommodate
more than 40000 Chitralis living in Karachi. If for one or
the other reasons, Chief Minister does not come to Chitral, Nazim
Chitral is requested to please contact him personally or through
mail and get this job done for Chitralis living in Karachi.
3. Mastuj- Broghel Road.
Chitral is fortunate to have been blessed with mountains full of
minerals, rivers, peaks, lakes, forest and above all peace loving
people with worth seen sceneries We see that almost all Union
Council villages and valleys are connected through link (jeep able)
road except UC Yarkhun and specially its upper area like from
Yarkhun Lasht to Broghel about 60 km has no even a safe pedestal
for walking. Urgent need for District Government is to plan for
construction of jeep able road from Yarkhun Lasht to Qurambara Lake
(Broghel Pass) on priority basis using own resources and that of
NGOs working in Chitral. This would enable people living here to
meet and see areas not seen before, exchange views and find out and
learn ways required for socio economic development. This would help
Broghel festival attracting tourist from abroad.
