Transport Problems of Female Students
Sir,
With due respect I want to draw your kind attentions about the
problems of transport in Govt Girls Degree College Chitral.
Sir GGDC is the only college in Govt sector in Chitral district.
Although there are more than five colleges in private sector in
district but they are far from the poor girls due to heavy fees, so
we reach of the poor girls compel to join the GGDC Chitral for our
career. Chitral is a mountains area and there are no public
transport facilities like other parts of Pakistan. It is also a
problem that Chitral is a male dominated area. Here the parents are
reluctant to send their daughters to schools or colleges. Thus most
part of the female in Chitral are illiterate, illiteracy in female
is the burning issues in Chitral. Which has to be addressed first.
The lacking of transport facilities is the main cause of illiteracy
in Chitrali women.
The GGDC Chitral has only two buses, which remain, at the workshop
for most part of the year.
The Chitral towns and its countryside areas are spread over about 5
kilometers where these two buses are not enough for more than six
hundred girls. The girls to wait for the buses 1 and 2 hours on the
road at morning and 3 to 4 hours at the college for back to homes.
In the above conditions nobody wants to send their daughters to
colleges in an area like Chitral thus most girls leave their
education incomplete only at metric level. We need about 5 buses to
tackle this issue. Govt has to provide funds for purchasing the
buses to protect the future of Chitrali female students who are the
part of Pakistan too. Therefore I request your honor to write on
this topic in your newspaper to convey my massage to the concerned
officials of Pakistan. All the girl students from Chitral pray for
your newspaper.
Youre faithfully
Shah Zeba Nadir
Class 3rd year.
