Lotkoh Telephone Exchange......letter II
Dear Sir,
Geographically Lotkuh Tehsil is an important area of Distt Chitral.
It has more that 40,000/= population divided in three main vallies
i.e. Garamchashma, Arkari and Karimabad. Its entire boundries are
linked with Afghanistan specially, Shah Salem, Baghust and Arkari
are the main routs.
Pakistan Telecommunication corporation Limited (PTCL) had
established a telephone exchange in Garamchashma some Years ago and
another exchange has been established at Breshgram Karimabad in
December 2006. Both Exchange are linked with a boaster at Parsan.
From the very beginning it has been the problem of the exchange
that they are not functional due to some technical problem in the
boaster at parsan. Most of the year it remain out of order
specially, in winter it remains completely off.
Secondly, V.Wireless tower was also established at Garamchashma
last year, connection and telephone set were distributed to the
payment of Rs.3000/ to Rs.3500/= through a franchise, which also
much higher than the actual rates. People are paying monthly rent
of land lines and V.Wireless without using connections. Complaints
have been done to the local authorities of PTCL but no solution to
the problem has come out.
In the last couple of weeks Chitral was under climatic disaster
where a number of people was died. People of Chitral especially,
those who are living in the down country are facing problems to
contact their families.
Though your online newspaper, we request to the higher authorities
of PTCL, Federal Minister for communication to take action to solve
the problem facing by the people, and to take action against those
PTCL authorities who are responsible for the situation.
Thanks and regards
Abdul Azim
