PIA Ramazan Package for Chitral
Good news for the people of Chitral PIAC has increased its fare for
Chitral during the holy month of Ramazan and now from Chitral to
Peshawar new fare is Rs. 2210 which was previously 1910. This increase
is not one sided. From Peshawar to Chitral it will Rs 2530, which was
2230, a few days back. This increase is to meet the financial loss of
PIAC, which is due to rampant corruption in the National flag carrier.
PIAC is run by incompetent and non-professional people who have
brought bad fame to
this prestigious organization this organization used to enjoy good
public image in the past when people took pride in traveling with PIAC.
But when it started expanding it became unmanageable. As a result,
common men became ultimate sufferer; especially the people of Chitral
have been suffering a lot at the hands of PIA for the last few years.
Chitral is special areas in
the sense that it remains cut off from the rest of the country for six
months from December to May. During this period, the only source of
connection with down country is PIA flight, which is subject to weather.
Here it is important to mention that about 40% of the populations of
Chitral live below the poverty line. PIA has increased its fare many
fold since 2006. People of Chitral travel with PIA out of compulsion,
because they have no alternative source of traveling during winter
season with the recent rise in PIA fare, it becomes very difficult to
afford PIA service. PIA flights from Islamabad to Chitral have also
been affected the new fare list from Chitral to Islamabad is Rs 2930
from Rs 2630.
It seems that PIAC not want to continue its service for Chitral,
otherwise it would not have tortured the people of Chitral in this
crucial manner. PIAC should also offer its Eid package to the people
of Chitral by lowering its fare on the arrival of winter.
