Aging Power House in Chitral
The unscheduled and unannounced load shedding continues in Chitral for the last so many years. The aging hydropower hours of Chitral is now unable to feed the whole Chitral, the machines remain out of order most of the time. The overhauling and monthly maintenance is a cosmetic arrangement and has no use in the present context, now the PESCO authorities at least should install new machineries and according to another report the capacity of the powerhouse can also be enhanced up to 2 MW. But who cares? The District administration has no spare time for such kind of constructive projects they have their own inter departmental interests. They are interested only the transfer and posting of their favorite govt servant. While observing the disinterestedness of the govt department and the district govt every layman thinks and proposes that these power-generating departments should be handed over to NGO�s or private power companies through poor friendly agreements. Otherwise the situation will remain the same and the business community would wind up their businesses.
