Poor performance of B.I.S.E Peshawar Website
Through your esteemed daily I would like to draw the attention
of the concerned authorities of Board of intermediate Secondary
Education (B.I.S.E) towards the poor performance of board website.
When results of secondary exam was declared, it was announced that
results will be displayed on B.I.S.E website. But it didnt happen.
Students were eager to know about their results, but their efforts
failed when they clicked the board website. Board website never
opened despite continuous efforts. Message always appears on screen
that This account has been suspended, please contact the
billing/support department as shows as possible. It shows the
competence of board staff and their technical knowledge. The same
case happened last year also. Board website disappointed every one
when students tried to get their results known. It was hoped, that
after a lapse of a year, board staff would improve their technical
knowledge. But, still students had to approach bookshops to now
their result.
It is very strange, that in this age of information technology, our
organizations are lacking modern means of administration. B.I.S.E
Peshawar still uses traditional methods, which is a matter of
great. Now that, various institutes have been computerized, B.I.S.E.
Peshawar, which is an important govt. organisation, should also be
restructured on modern lines. Web designers of board should pay
proper attention to improve their performance. In this way B.I.S.E
Peshawar will benefit people at their doorstep.

PTV and Shandur Letter II
Dear Editor,
This has reference to Dr Inayatullah Faizi's recently published
letter "PTV and Shandur" in chitraltimes.com. I want to complement
Dr Faizi for concise comments on the pathetic disposition of PTV
commentators during the three days Shandur festival. My views are
not different from what the learned writer has expressed. We the
family members enjoyed the festival with the kind courtesy of PTV
and Telenor for which they deserve our appreciations. But at the
same time we did feel the substandard commentary, failing to
understand why the PTV failed to tap the learned resource persons,
the one like the writer himself.
Please convey my best wishes and deep appreciations to PTV once
again and also the anticipation for visible improvement in the
proffesional standard that has always been hallmark of the national
channel. I do request the PTV authorities to give coverage to other
festivals in Chitral, notably the coming Baroghil festival ( July
15-17). It will go a long way in attracting increased number of
tourists thus bringing socio-economic development to the people and
their abode.
