Great People to fly with III
Dear Sir,
This refers to letters Great People to fly with. I think the
undignified behavior of the PIA officials is one of the root causes
of the poor performance of PIAC. We know that the friendly attitude
of employees of any organization promotes good image and enhances
the credibility of that organization. But the case is different
with PIAC. PIAC suffers a loss of millions of rupees monthly. Its
chairman gets one million rupees monthly salary excluding other
perk and privileges and has taken three years pay in advance. Last
month he was summoned before the standing committee of Parliament
to clarify his position, the deteriorating image of PIAC and
massive corruption in it. So, in this situation we should not
expect that PIAC will deliver relief to the people.
It is true that working with PIAC in Chitral is challenging. Every
day, quite a good number of people visit PIA office to get their
seats booked. They even resort to violence when seats are denied to
them. Such cases happen seldom. But the complaint against the
behavior of PIAC officials in Chitral has become a routine affair.
It is very strange that PIAC has not arranged, so far, any
refresher or public relation (PR) courses for them. One must keep
in mind that if character is lost, everything is lost.
