This is in reference to the letter of Mr. Rana Tahir Ali. The motto of PIA has been �Great people to fly with�. But the treatment that Mr.Halim has done with the �Great people� is totally unbearable. People like him should be taught special lessons so that no one in the future dares to treat harshly the �Great peoples�.

This refers to Mr. Sardar Hussain letter Pamir Hunt published in the letters corner on your website. I would like to draw your attention to a factual inaccuracy in Mr. Hussian letter. While referring to this area Mr.Hussain writes that," Opening of the Lawari pass through rail tunnel is the beginning of the end for those who live in the Southern Valleys of the Hindukush, Karakorum and Pamirs." The area to which Mr. Hussain is referring is geographically known as Northern Pakistan, or better as Northern Areas not as southern districts. And in the south lies Sindh.

Chitral a focus of attention


The recent visits paid by Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao and Engineer Ameer Maqam has created a new hope and zeal among the people of Chitral. People feel that Government is now paying proper attention towards the backward areas, especially, Chitral. The promises made by these government functionaries, if fulfilled, would usher in an era of socio-economic development in Chitral. Interior Minister, Mr. Sherpao is well known to the people of Chitral he has already issued directives about his announcements, which he made during his visit. The immediate directives show his interests and sympathy with the people of Chitral. The grant welcome offered by the people of Chitral, has shown their regard for Sherpao. Sherpao realized this and issued immediate directives. Similarly, Engineer Amir Maqaam is also an important member of present Government and using his influence, he should issue immediate directives. Engineer Ameer Maqaam also told good news about the visit of president Musharraf to Shandur in July and formal, inauguration of Lawari tunnel project, which is under progress. The visit of Musharraf would also contribute a lot towards the progress of Chitral. Another important long awaited, visit would be C.M Akram Khan Durrani scheduled for 13 June. This visit has become a matter of great interest, if it is not carried out, our two MPA�s would tender resignation. All these developments have proved, that Chitral is how getting its due share because of its geo strategic location. The need is to exploit this importance for the betterment and welfare of the people of Chitral.
