Malakand University

Sir,

Through the courtesy of your esteemed paper I would like to draw the attention of Higher Education Commission, and the honourable Governor NWFP, Lit Gen (R) Ali Mohammad Jan Orakzai towards the pathetic condition of the University of Malakand Chakdara NWFP. The University was established in 2001-2, but after the lapse of 5 years it is still in an embrionic stage. The Universities of Hazara, Kohat and Bannu were established some way after the inception of Malakand University. All other Universities are running in full swing. Every other University has its qualified staff, its Syndicate, academic council, administrative and teaching departments, deans and heads of faculties but the University of Malakand has nothing the sort.

It is so pity that during the last 4-5 years, even the examination section and registrars office could not be streamlined. It is high time that the Higher Education Commission and the worthy Chancellor pay heed to the affairs of the University of Malakand to make it a University at par with the Universities of Kohat, Bannu and Hazara.
