Rising of Rivers, floods & loss to properties & infrastructure.

Extremely sorry and sad to know the loss of bridges like Brep bridge, Gazen Bridge and Parkusap bridge with rising of river Yarkhun and rain flood in nullahs. All the three bridges were constructed at very important points connecting otherwise confined people to the rest part of the District. The bridges are considered to be known as life saving bridges for whole Yarkhun and Broghil Valley more than 20000 persons. I very much remember that great efforts, waiting, money and time spent on these bridges. Not only me but all the 20000 people benefiting directly of these bridges do remember and carry respect in their hearts for the leaders who accepting the difficulties and need of the people of the area, allocated fund for construction of these bridges.
I do remember once that a social worker namely Sher Ali of Brep in a gathering in Brep appealed for repair of protection bund by themselves and next day saw a large number of people going to the site with required local material for repair of protection bund of the bridge and was done very effectively and that worked till to date. This year rising of river happened to be quite high, fell over and washed away the protection bund and badly damaged the main bridge making it unsafe and unable for traffic. Same is the case with Gazin and Parkusap bridges that were damaged disconnecting all communication. District Nazim, Naib Nazim and Tehsil Nazim on the report of Union Nazims and local police are reported to have been visiting the bridges and are with people appealing to provincial and Federal Government for providing fund for reconstruction of these bridges. This was very much required and no doubt a good sign of success and caring of their area. The people of Chitral living in Karachi thank to Chitral Press and Chitraltimes.com  for bringing all the required and needy issues, incidence and events to the notice of concerned officials and to press for information of all affectees in and outside the district.
The people of Yarkhun and the people from the rest part of Mastuj jointly appeal to District Nazim and District Coordination Officer Chitral for providing fund for urgent repair making it useable safely for light traffic and pedestrians. Secondly appeal to Chief Minister Mr. Akram Khan Durani to meet and honor his commitment of 2.25 billion Chitral package made to the leaders of Chitral in 2004. This package can only be enough to rebuild and make all these damages of heavy infrastructure in upper Chitral. We also request MPAs and MNA to work hard and bring this package to Chitral for the welfare of the people of Chitral.

Condolence message to Korean Company Leader

All Chitralis in Karachi express deep concern and regret on the sudden death of Korean Engineer and other locals in Lowari Tunnel. The people of Chitral no doubt share the sad loss of precious lives with their families here and in Korea and pray that Allmighty God may bless and give eternal peace to the departed soul and patience to families for bearing irreparable losses. Ameen.
