Communication with the pace of thunder is an outcome of science. Distances of many thousand miles are covered convincingly and the dream of conquer of air met the reality. The exemplary work of Wright Brothers paved the way of boosting and nourishing of Aero-sciences and avionics which resulted the most comfortable and luxurious planes breaking the sound barrier, and annihilating the vast distances between the latitude and longitude on the globe in the least possible time.
Pakistan is not on the hider side in the race. PIA has a network of flights connecting the hearths of countrymen, cementing the bound of good will and strengthen the essential feature of nation-state system (the nationalism). The people of Chitral are closely associated having a long year of attachment with PIA. The hovering of its flight is a sense of satisfaction for us, and reminds the tone in our mind that �I am here at your service and would continue to serve till my last breath.� In winter it was the sole spokesmen highlighting our miserable plight, while in summer it was exploring all the avenues to present the majestic beauty of the area. It has every tricks In its book to make the journey more comfortable and regular. In nutshell the services rendered by PIA to chitral is unforgettable, praiseworthy and eulogizing and this name is present in everyone�s good book.
The tragic and horrid accident of Fokker plane spread a wave of shock and sorrow to almost every Pakistani. After this event PIA has a fleet of 6 Fokker aircraft from 250 series. The cabinet after observing the shabby condition of the planes decided to ground the remaining Fokker De Havilland of Holland. C-130 would replace the flight to Chitral said the information minister.
Immediate impulse received by the brain, after hearing the news, made me on cloud nine, and sent a tsunami of joy. Lowari-rail tunnel project, utility stores at every nuke and corner of the district, abundance of cheep electricity, many developmental plans along with regular flights in all weather are enough for a jubilant scene of delirious happiness. Chitral receives lion�s share of its demands and needs under the patronage of good leadership of president Musharraf, and Is marching with considerable speed on the thorny path of progress and development. For these incentives and demands we have waited till the cows come home.
The last paragraph of my letter stimulated the lachrymal gland, as a result tears became uncontrolled, and my eyes filled with saltish water on remembering the yeoman services of PIA Fokker plane to Chitral, from its first day to the present. It is a difficult task for every Chitralis to forget and sideline the missionary zeal of PIA in providing value able services. The word (Espa Jihaz) comes out of the sound box, whenever and wherever our eyes make the image of the Fokker plane on the occipital lobe of our brain. It was our all weather friend visited us regularly in summer while in winter facing the severity and chillness of climate tried her best to kept the ball Rolling. A bundle of sweat memories associated with it e.g. the bird eye view of snow capped lowari, the scenic beauty of other vallies, gossips with friends at an altitude of many thousand meters, enjoying food at stratosphere, reading newspaper in air while moving with high speed , experiencing the moment of taking off and landing with escape velocity, sense of of satisfaction and sigh of relief after landing at Chitral airport, ecstasy of victory on having the first flight ticket in winter, agony of defeat on been dropped due to unknown reasons, and above all the recitation of all the possible remembered short surahs of holly Quran for the safe journey. Thus our association with PIA is long and reliable and may Allah�s monsoon shower of blessing fall upon PIA.
