It got the attention of the v.v.i.ps from general ziaul-Haq to general Pervez Musharraf who made many developmental projects for chitral, but as regards the question of implantations of these announcements are concerned, the credit goes to our present beloved president of Pakistan General Pervez Musharraf (Zindabad) who brought into reality the dreams of Shaheed Bhutto and the then Chitral,s representative,Ataleq Jafar Ali shahLate).It is like Allama Iqbal and Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali jinah who saw the dream of Pakistan and brought into reality respectively.
secondly,by virtue of polo match Chitral can have more and more tourists not only from down districts but from all the corners of the global village. as tourism plays very important role in the development of the economy of any country and chitral also needs plenty of tourists (not terrorists) as Chitralis are peaceful minded people.
Thirdly, it also helps chitral in display and demonstration of our values,traditions,unique culture and hospitality to the people coming from out side in a better and proper way.
Shandur Polo match is not only watched by Chitralis and Gilgtians and people from other parts of Pakistan but it is also watched by the polo fans and connoisseurs across the continents as it is clear from the fact that once we two Chitralis were traveling from Canada to London (U.K) by Air Canada on our way to Chitral on Atlantic Ocean when surprisingly we got chance of watching shandur Polo match on the main screen of T.V in the plane. The movie we watched did cover not only the whole polo match but also covered interviews of our Chitral team captain Shzada Sikandarul Mulk, other team players and team coach subidar Mahboob Alam as well as interview of team captain of gilgit team and other players. It was so amazing, amuzing, interesting, exciting and wonderful event that almost all the passengers in the plane were seen watching this interesting free style polo match (won by Chitral team) and I was compelled to introduce all team players and team coach and start running commentary on the match to the one Italian guy sitting beside me.
In view of the immense importance of this polo match setting up of the team should be managed in such a harmonious and united manner that it should be free of all politics and conflicts to ensure winning of the match on the one hand and nice looking match for the spectator son the other hand. Moreover, we should extend our warmest welcome to all our guests coming from abroad to make sure their visits again and again as well as attract others to get Chitral more and more developed and put it on the road towards financial prosperity.
