Ground breaking ceremony of Karimabad and Arkari valleys bridge held

CHITRAL; The people of Karimabad and Arkari valleys got a RCC bridge for the first time whose ground breaking ceremony was performed here on Saturday by the district nazim Chitral Maghfirat Shah which will be completed within nine months at a cost of Rs. 44.20 million rupees.

On this occasion, the inauguration ceremony of starting work on rehabilitation of the flood damaged Karimabad road and Chitral-Garam Chashma at the costs of Rs. 10.50 million and Rs.20.00 were also performed.

Earlier, the district nazim had inaugurated work on the construction of five suspension bridges at upper Chitral at Pokail, Kosht, Muzhgol, Boni Gol and Charun which had been washed away by flash floods in the year 2015.

Speaking on the occasion, the district nazim said that the provincial government had graciously allocated a large sum of Rs.760.00 million for the rehabilitation of the roads and bridges in the district swept away by floods.

The members of zilla council Muhammad Yaqub, Abdul Qayum and Muhammad Hussain also addressed the gathering on the occasion of the inauguration ceremony of Shoghor bridge and the roads.

Sajidullah Advocate elected President Bar

CHITRAL: In the election of district bar association, Sajidullah of PML-N defeated his own party man Niaz A Niazi by four votes.

Four candidates were in the run for the slot of presidentship including Sajidullah, Niaz A Niazi, Sirajud Din Rabbani and Mir Dullah Jan who polled 26,22,12 and 9 votes respectively.

The other office-bearers included Muhammad Ishaq vice-president, Peer Syed Mukhtar Ali Shah general secretary, Fazle Mabood finance secretary and Shams Alam library secretary.

The elections were held by senior members of the association, Said Jalal advocate.
