PESHAWAR: Chief Justice Yahya Afridi visited District Shangla. He also went to Tehsil Bahrain & Khwazakhela of District Swat. The PHC Chief Justice visited the District Courts and held meetings with Judges, lawyers and staff members of District Judiciary. He was briefed about the performance of the District Judiciary Shangla and Swat on ongoing projects in the District. He was also briefed about the targets to be achieved by the District Judiciary. Those included pendency analysis, office automation, safe and secure environment, equipping the Courts & Offices and facilitating the public at large/litigants. The Chief Justice was also appraised about development of a web site for online facilitation, SMS to bar members in case of leave of Judicial Officers, provision of scanners for digitalization of the record and automation of District Courts Library. The Chief Justice appreciated the efforts of the District & Sessions Judges and their teams.

The Chief Justice also met the staff of both the District Judiciary and ensured them of every possible support, within available means, to overcome their problems.

The Chief Justice also addressed to the District Bar Shangla, Tehsil bar Bahrain & Khawzakhela and discussed his policy formulated at the time he assumed office. It was to focus on the downtrodden and far-flung Districts of the Province so that they may also be brought to the main stream and at par with other central Districts of the Province; therefore he started his districts visits from Kohistan. Towards this end he spoke of providing all possible financial assistance, the deputation of the best Judicial Officers and his personal monitoring by visits to those poverty ridden Districts. In this connection he highlighted that with his visit to District Shangla and Swat he has concluded his series of visits to such far-flung Districts of the Province. The Chief Justice expressed his intention to transform this District into a model District for the Province so that the decades old deprivations may be removed. The Bar expressed their gratitude to the visit and commitment of the Chief Justice to District Shangla. He also assured that all ongoing development schemes will be completed on priority basis.
