Seven die and seven injured in a Road accident near chew bridge

CHITRAL; Seven persons drowned in Chitral river here on Monday morning when a jeep coming from Arkari valley plunged into the river near Chew bridge at Airport road which was carrying 14 passengers.

Chitral police identified the drowned persons as Muhammad Afzal (driver), Muhammad Arif, Hassan Ali Shah, Sameer, Muhammad Hassan, Islahuddin and Rahila bibi.

All the seven persons are missing whose bodies are yet to be retrieved from the river which is in medium flood making the search work difficult.

All the fourteen persons on board belonged to Arkari village while the police official told that the reason of accident was fast speed due to which the skidded off the road.

Police told that the rescuers rushed to the spot and saved five persons from being drowned inclining Shabbir, Gul Rahim, Wali, yard Arab, Salman and Anwar.
