JI and JUI leaders condemned Friday incident

By Zahiruddin

CHITRAL: District nazim Chitral Maghfirat Shah has extolled the religious leaders, the law enforcing agencies and the civil society for handling the situation arising from the incident of blasphemy on Friday last in which no loss to life or property took place despite the commotion that continued for more than ten hours.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday flanked by the leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami and Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam including Qari Abdur Rahman, Maulana Jamshed Ahmed, Maulana Abdul Shakoor, Khan Hayat ullah Khan and others, he said that the broad spectrum of the society was against the shameful act and all the segments of the society were on one page in condemning it.

He termed the incident an engineered effort and machination to disturb the peaceful and tranquil environment of Chitral and divest it of the fruits which it will get after the completion of Lowari tunnel project and the completion of CEPC project Chitral was going to be a part of.

He assured the people of Chitral that the blasphemer will be brought to book as case has been registered against him under section 295-C of Pakistan Penal Code and sections 6 and 7 of Anti-Terrorism Act.

The nazim expressed the resolve that no effort will succeed in future as well to tarnish the peace and amity which formed the characteristic of Chitral.
