JI and JUI leaders condemned Friday incident
CHITRAL: District nazim Chitral Maghfirat Shah has extolled
the religious leaders, the law enforcing agencies and the civil
society for handling the situation arising from the incident of
blasphemy on Friday last in which no loss to life or property took
place despite the commotion that continued for more than ten hours.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday flanked by the leaders
of Jamaat-e-Islami and Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam including Qari Abdur
Rahman, Maulana Jamshed Ahmed, Maulana Abdul Shakoor, Khan Hayat
ullah Khan and others, he said that the broad spectrum of the
society was against the shameful act and all the segments of the
society were on one page in condemning it.
He termed the incident an engineered effort and machination to
disturb the peaceful and tranquil environment of Chitral and divest
it of the fruits which it will get after the completion of Lowari
tunnel project and the completion of CEPC project Chitral was going
to be a part of.
He assured the people of Chitral that the blasphemer will be
brought to book as case has been registered against him under
section 295-C of Pakistan Penal Code and sections 6 and 7 of
The nazim expressed the resolve that no effort will succeed in
future as well to tarnish the peace and amity which formed the
characteristic of Chitral.
