NBP Branch inaugurates in Garam Chashma
CHITRAL: The people of Lot Koh valley jubilated the
inauguration of the Garam Chashma branch of National Bank of
Pakistan and pinned hopes on it with special reference to the
growers of potato demanding financing from it at the time of
In the function held on Wednesday, the local MPA Salim Khan, area
manager of the bank Zaheer Ullah and elites of the valley
Islamuddin, Gulab Khan, Muhammad Wali, Abdul Murad, and others said
that the area produced potato worth of about a billion of rupees
and proper finances to the growers will make the produce manifold.
They said that in the growing season, the local farmers get loans from
the non local traders for seeds, fertilizers and pesticides and at
the time of harvesting they surrendered their produce at throw-away
They said that thousands of pensioners had to travel to Chitral
city to draw their salary from the district branch of the bank

local people also faced difficulties in receiving the cash sent by
their kith and kin from abroad for which they had to travel to the

They said that every segment of the society will be benefitted
ranging from farmers, businessmen, artisans and students while the
proposed highway linking Chitral and Tajikitan will also pass
through the valley making it hub of economic activities.
The MPA, later on, formally inaugurated the branch by cutting the
ribbon and got an account opened in his name.
