PM vows not to let blood of APS children go waste; announces Dec 16 national day for education cause

PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday vowed that the blood of schoolchildren of Army Public School would not go waste, and declared to mark December 16 as national day for the promotion of education in the country. Addressing a special event here to commemorate the first anniversary of Army Public School tragedy, the Prime Minister said it was the time to end the "darkness of ignorance from the country" which had led to rise of extremism. 

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif also distributed honorary medals and certificates among parents and guardians of martyred students and teachers of the Army Public School Peshawar attack. The Prime Minister during a ceremony held at APS in connection with first death anniversary of the students and teachers of the school awarded honorary medals and certificates to martyred students including Zeshan Ahmed Shaheed, Abdul Azeem Afridi Shaheed, Imran Ali Shaheed, Ishaq Ameen Shaheed, Muhammad Zahid Shaheed, Mehar Ali Azam Shaheed, Muhammad Daud Shaheed, Shafiqur Rehman Shaheed, Yasir Iqbal Shaheed, Saqib Ali Shaheed and six years old Khwala Shaheed.
