SRSP distributes solar plants among secondary hospitals of
CHITRAL: Two secondary care hospitals in upper Chitral, THQ
hospital Booni and rural health centre Warijun will get electricity
shortly from the solar plants donated by Sarhad Rural Support
Program (SRSP) after four months.
Commandant of Chitral Scouts, colonel Nizam Ud Din Shah, handed
over the plants to the district health officer, Dr. Israrullah in a
function held here on Friday and expressed his gratitude to chief
executive officer of SRSP who provided the much needed solar
systems on his special request.
He eulogize the role of SRSP in the development of Chitral in
sectors with special emphasis on hydro power generation and played
commanding role during the last two natural disasters in the form
of torrential floods and earthquake.
“From north to South, one can see network of small and micro
hydro-power projects launched by the organization which will solve
the problem of power once and for all”, he said.
He mentioned Arandu-Kamsai road as the one sponsored by the
organization apart from the ten numbers of mini and micro hydro
power projects which were on the verge of completion and were
schedueled to be commissioned to work by the month of June next.
He said that Chitral Scouts played a leading role in the
development of the district by monitoring the development projects
executed by the government departments on one side and ensuring
coordination between different NGOs to prioritize the projects and
evade their duplication.
Talking on occasion, the internal auditor of SRSP, Engineer
Khadimullah said that the hospitals of Booni and Warijun were
without electricity since the last four months as the hydro power
station of Reshun was washed away by torrential floods which fed
