Prime Minister efforts lauded
CHITRAL: The president of PML-N Chitral sub-division,
Muhammad Kausar advocate has expressed his gratitude to the prime
minister Mian Nawaz Sharif for visiting Chitral soon after the
recent devastating earthquake in Chitral and announcing a large
number of development projects including huge allocation for
completion of Lowari tunnel project.
Addressing a press conference flanked by other leaders of the party
including Imranul Mulk, Niaz A Niazi advocate, Muhammad Hussain and
others, he said no prime minister ever visited the district after
the visit of Nawaz Sharif in 1999 and all this the reflection of
his love for the people of Chitral.
He said that the announcement of the prime minister has greatly
allayed the suffering and miseries of the quake affected people as
it was for the first time in the history of natural disasters that
the affected people got their compensation cheques within a week.
The PML-N leader, however, demanded of the prime minister to
announce an additional sum of one billion rupees for those affected
people whose damaged houses could not be enlisted as the damaged
ones due to the flaws in the laws of disaster compensations whose
number has been estimated at 20 thousands.
He said that although a large number of houses have not been
collapsed, but they were shaken by the high intensity jolt and were
rendered ramshackle while the disaster assessment teams did not
mark them as damaged.
Mr. Kausar also demanded of the chief minister of Punjab, Mian
shahbaz Sharif to send to Chitral the consignment of tents, beds
and woolen cloths for the twelve thousand households who have yet
to receive any substantial relief goods from the provincial
