By Zahiruddin

CHITRAL: The president of PML-N Chitral sub-division, Muhammad Kausar advocate has expressed his gratitude to the prime minister Mian Nawaz Sharif for visiting Chitral soon after the recent devastating earthquake in Chitral and announcing a large number of development projects including huge allocation for completion of Lowari tunnel project.

Addressing a press conference flanked by other leaders of the party including Imranul Mulk, Niaz A Niazi advocate, Muhammad Hussain and others, he said no prime minister ever visited the district after the visit of Nawaz Sharif in 1999 and all this the reflection of his love for the people of Chitral.

He said that the announcement of the prime minister has greatly allayed the suffering and miseries of the quake affected people as it was for the first time in the history of natural disasters that the affected people got their compensation cheques within a week.

The PML-N leader, however, demanded of the prime minister to announce an additional sum of one billion rupees for those affected people whose damaged houses could not be enlisted as the damaged ones due to the flaws in the laws of disaster compensations whose number has been estimated at 20 thousands.

He said that although a large number of houses have not been collapsed, but they were shaken by the high intensity jolt and were rendered ramshackle while the disaster assessment teams did not mark them as damaged.

Mr. Kausar also demanded of the chief minister of Punjab, Mian shahbaz Sharif to send to Chitral the consignment of tents, beds and woolen cloths for the twelve thousand households who have yet to receive any substantial relief goods from the provincial government.
