Shahzada Farhad Aziz claims to be pioneer of paragliding in
CHITRAL: The president of Hindu Kush Association for
Paragliding (HIKAP) Chitral, Shahzada Farhad Aziz has claimed to be
the pioneer of paragliding in Chitral who introduced flying in the
area in the year 2004 when no one knew about the feat.
Addressing a press conference here, he said that due to the
potential of paragliding in the area due to its peculiar topography
and the tendency and penchant of the youth for paragliding, the
number multiplied to many times within a short span of time and
association was established to bring them in a single platform.
Flanked by other office bearers Syed Sajjad Hussain Shah, Meraj
Hussain. Sajid Zia, Bilour Khan and others, he said that the
association has rendered a valuable service for the promotion of
paragliding in the area which further promoted tourism while the
consummate flyers of Chitral were invited to exhibit their feat in
the festivals throughout the country.
Mr. Aziz said that some members of the association were expelled
from the association by its general body as per bye-laws on account
of their unwanted activities detrimental to the promotion of the
organization but they are now waging a war of propaganda against
HIKAP to tarnish its image.
He termed the allegations leveled by the members of the splinter
group formed out of expelled members as totally baseless and warned
that legal action will be taken against them.
