CHITRAL; Chief justice of Peshawar High Court, Justice
Mazhar Alam Mian Khel has said that the ultimate destination of
both bench and bar is to provide speedy and easily accessible
justice to the people as injustice in a society breeds a myriad of
social problems and destroys
its very fabric.
Addressing the district bar association here on Thursday, he said
that there should be a well concerted coordination between the two
(bar and bench) in order to promote a judicial system which
delivers justice to all while the existing situation is all
congenial for this purpose.
He asked the lower judiciary to sternly desist from gratuitously
delaying the decision of cases as it shakes of the confidence of
the people on judiciary as a whole.
The chief justice said that to achieve this end, the provision of
infrastructures is being given top most priority and judicial
complexes are being set up in each district and in some tehsil
level as well so that the lack of facilities should not pose a
He said that the 118 vacant posts of civil judges and additional
district judges were being filled after which the lack of judicial
officers will be as per required strength and the speedy trial of
cases will be ensured.
Earlier, he laid the foundation stone of the judicial complex in
Chitral and announced to construct judicial complexes in Booni and
District president of bar association, Sahib Nadir Khan advocate
also spoke on the occasion and demanded of the chief justice to
provide more number of bench for hearing the cases in circuit court
of Peshawar High Court in Chitral.
On arrival at the district kutchery, he was given a guard of honor
by a contingent of Chitral police.
