NAB KP arrests Dr. Ihsan Ali Vice Chancellor Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan and three others

PESHAWAR: NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa  arrested Dr. Ihsan Ali, Ex-Vice Chancellor Hazara University presently working as VC Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Professor Dr. Syed Sakhawat Shah Ex-Vice Chancellor Hazara University, Dr. Muhammad Aziz Khan Chairman NIMS College of Medicines Abbottabad and Professor Hamayun Zia Ex-Chairman Higher Education Regulatory Authority (HERA). The accused persons are allegedly involved in misuse of authority and cheating public at large by luring students to get admission in an illegal and unregistered medical institution stripping their parents of more than Rs. 550 million.

During the course of inquiry / investigation it came to surface that Ex Vice Chancellors Hazara University, Prof. Dr Ihsan Ali and Prof. Dr Sakhawat Shah without any medical faculty / mandate as provided in KMU Act 2006 granted affiliation to National Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) Abbottabad with ulterior motives and conducted examination of an illegal Medical Institute, NIMS. They abetted with the illegal medical college in not only leaching parents of their hard earned money but played with the future of the innocent students by wasting their precious time thus caused serious loss to the future leaders of Pakistan.

It was also discovered that the accused Dr Muhammad Aziz Khan , Chairman of the Illegal Medical Institute ,NIMS, willfully indulged in illegal business for monitory gains by admitting students without any lawful mandate prior to recognition of the institute as envisaged in PM&DC Ordinance, 1962 and the Apex courtís judgment 2007. Further the accused Hamayun Zia, Ex Chairman HERA in connivance with others illegally registered NIMS by overlooking serious criteria for registration and also failed to pay periodic regulatory visits.

National Accountability Bureau, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is aggressively looking in to the matters because its not only a matter of financial loss but the future of the nation is at stake. More alarming facts are on card.
The accused person will be produced before the Honorable Accountability Courts for physical custody.
