JI and JUI announced nomination of district Nazim
CHITRAL: All speculations and calculations about the
district nazim abruptly came to an end here on Friday when the
alliance of religious parties, JI and JUI, announced the nomination
of Maghfirat Shah of JI as their joint candidate for the covetous
slot of district nazim.
The alliance has a clear cut majority of 25 in the house of 38 out
of which 13 belonged to JI and 12 to JUI which also included the
reserved seats of women, peasants, youth and minority.
Followed by the procession of hundreds of the workers of both the
religious parties, the amir of JI Maghfirat Shah and that of JUI,
Qari Abdur Rahman Qureshi addressed a press conference to make
announcement that the offices of district nazim and naib-tehsil
nazim went to JI while the nazims of the two tehsils, Mastuj and
Chitral, including naib zilla nazim to JUI.
They said that the people of Chitral had reposed an unprecedented
trust on the reliogious parties due to which they were in a
position to win the district nazim and that of the two tehsils with
a fair majority.
They reitereated that the alliance will remain intact in the next
general election as well while some political quarters did their
level best to smash it and left no stone unturned for this purpose.
They expressed the hope that the district government and the tehsil
municipal administrations in the two tehsils will set an example of
good governance and free from corruption and mismanagement.
