265 poling stations established in district Chitral for LG polls

CHITRAL: In the local bodies polls to be held on Saturday, 286645 voters will cast their votes to elect 24 members of district council, 14 members of tehsil council Chitral, 10 members of tehsil council Mastuj and more than 1000 councilors of one hundred village councils in Chitral district.

District returning officer and deputy commissioner Chitral Aminul Haq told Chitral Times that 265 polling stations have been established across the district with 660 numbers of polling booths out of which 368 were meant for men and 292 for women.

He said that election material including ballot papers have been already been consigned to the polling stations and polling staff have left for their respective stations while more than 2300 security men have been deployed in the polling stations to maintain peace.

An official of police said that 37 polling stations have been classified as sensitive out of which 21 were hyper-sensitive for which special security arrangement has been made to avert any untoward incident.
