CM ordered to transfer all C&W field officials

Chitral Times Report

PESHAWAR:
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has ordered the C&W department to transfer all those field officers who did not initiate development schemes of the current financial year and post them at the provincial headquarters office. He also ordered transfer of Executive Engineer, C&W Mardan for his failure in initiation development schemes of current year.

During his meeting with a 22-member delegation of district Mardan, the Chief Minister was astonished and annoyed over the disclosure that C&W Mardan did not start development schemes despite the fact that end of current financial year is approaching now. The delegation called on the Chief Minister under the leadership of MPA Zahid Durrani. Members provincial Assembly Iftikhar Mashwani and secretary Local Government Jamil Ahmad were also present.

Responding to other problems and demands , presented by the delegation, the Chief Minister directed the Deputy Commissioner, Mardan to arrange repair of power transformers from the district council funds as expecting WAPDA for timely repair would be useless effort, he added.

He also directed the Secretary Local Government to approach the Election Commission for establishing separate polling stations for female voters in forthcoming Local Government elections.

In response to the demands for providing civic facilities in Mardan, Pervez Khattak said that all powers for such amenities have been devolved to local councils which would come into being after the Local Government elections. He said that present provincial government has established a smooth, efficient and transparent system for ensuring provision of justice and rights of the people in accordance with manifesto of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf. He added that under such system it would be impossible for politicians to make any undesirable and negative interference which could deprive people of their rights. He said that all segments of society will enjoy equal opportunities for their progress and prosperity under this system. He told that political influence and nepotism in recruitments against vacant post had also been eliminated by an automated system of appointments, and all appointments were being made on the basis of qualification and NTS test.
