Lasprik demands withdrawal of Shandur MoU

CHITRAL
: In an a press statement PML (N) leader Muhammad Shahab Uddin advocate has issued rebuttal to the statement of PPP Gilgit Women wing leader Saadia Danish on the sensitive issue of Shandur boundary. Mr. Shahab Uddin Clarified that the matter is Sub judice in the GB Supreme appellate Court Gilgit. Miss. Saadia should refer to the interim Judgment of the supreme appellate Court Gilgit passed on 22-06-2011 to maintain status quo. She should also refer to the minutes of joint meeting at the ministry of KANA/SAFRON Islamabad on 16-07-2003 issued vide KANA letter dated 19-07-2003. The eminent lawyer from Chitral has questioned the cause of creating hap hazard situation by certain element in Gilgit at a time when GBC region has geared up for local bodies elections. The statement shows concern over the language used by Miss. Saadia Danish, particularly the phrase of ‘’atoot’ang ‘’ or integral part. This is the same phrase which India has been constantly using for Kashmir since 1948. According to land commission report printed in official Gazette by Shaheed ZA Bhutto on 05-08-1975, both the polo grounds mas junali and mahoranpal, at shandur measuring 8 canals and 12 canals respectively, are properties of the erstwhile NWFP Government renamed as KP by PPP Co-Chairmen Asif Ali Zardari in 2009.Shahab Uddin Advocate said that Miss Saadia Danish may be pleased to know that shandur possessed by the people of Laspur in de facto de jure position since 1320 AD, when raise family ruled Chitral. Successive rulers from Katoor, Khoshwakht families and the brtish rulers did not interfere in the possession. After the independents the Government of Pakistan maintained status quo. Muhammad Shahab Uddin has suggested that the matter should be resolved by the court of law and the alleged MoU should be withdrawn. He stressed the need to refrain from creating disturbances and maintaining brotherly relations between the people of both sides of the shandur top.

CM KP condemns Karachi terrorist attack

Chitral Times Report

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak strongly condemned terrorist attack at a community bus in Karachi in which 45 people, hailing from Ismaili Community, have been killed and more than 20 injured on Wednesday.

While extending condolences to the families of victims and injured persons the Chief Minister said such cowardly acts cannot serve any purpose for terrorists. He said that the terror attack was horrific and it was most distressing that a peaceful and patriotic community was brutally attacked.

Expressing deep grief and sorrow over the casualties and sympathies to the bereaved families the Chief Minister prayed for the departed souls and wished for early recovery of the injured persons.

He said that the government and people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa shared the grief of the families of victims and they should not feel themselves alone. He said that whole nation was praying for them. (ends)
