APML and PPP entered into an electoral alliance for local bodies
All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) and Pakistan People’s Party
(PPP) entered into an electoral alliance in the local bodies polls.
The announcement was made during the joint press conference of the
president of APML, Shahzada Khalid Pervaiz and president of PPP,
Salim Khan here on Sunday in which hundreds of the workers of both
the parties were present.
They said that the alliance was the need of the hour as the people
of Chitral had reposed their confidence on them because incumbent
MNA from Chitral was from APML and the MPAs were

of development as the local bodies representatives have been given
greater share in power and development funds and their harmony with
the members of assembly was indispensable.

The PPP and APML leaders dispelled the impression that the alliance
was aimed at countering the alliance of religious parities
consisting of Jamaat-e-Islami and Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam.
They said that the people of Chitral will reject them outright due
to the inefficiency of the parties during the MMA government in the
province during which corruption was at its peak and the district
was neglected in development activities.
