Press briefing held by Hujra Organization Chitral

CHITRAL: The district coordinator of HUJRA organization, Ghazala Afzal has said that her organization was determined to sensitize the political circles in the area with the ultimate objective of bringing about electoral reforms which will result in strengthening of democracy in the country.

In her media briefing here on Thursday, she said that the members of the District Electoral Reforms Group (DERG) , successfully persuaded the MNA from Chitral Shahzada Iftikharud Din and MPAs Salim Khan and Syed Sardar Hussain to support any legislation process in their respective houses aimed at electoral reforms best suited to the people of all cross-sections of life.

She said that the elected representatives also pledged to do their utmost in the house to remove the complications in the election process while selection of members against reserved seats on the basis of votes obtained by the political parties instead of general seats won.

She said that her organization was also striving to give the right of nomination of member of Election Commission of Pakistan from the provincial to the provincial assembly so that the member may represent the broader political spectrum of the province and deliver positively.

The members of DERG, Nasreen, Naseem Muhammad advocate, Raza Ali advocate, Ziaur Rahman, Shahana Bibi and Shahid Iqbal were also in attendance.


VC Jughor passed the first Budget of 4 Million Rupees

CHITRAL: The village council of Jughoor passed the development budget of 4 million rupees in its budget session held here on Thursday presided over by nazim Sajjad Ahmed Khan.

Addressing on the occasion, the nazim congratulated the members to win the credit of taking lead in passing the development budget for the first time in the whole province as it was the first village council in the province to pass its development budget.

He said that the devolution of powers has been materialized as they pointed out and prioritized the development projects and schemes as per their needs and demands on the grass root level.
