Chitral Police recovered newly born baby stolen by a woman

CHITRAL: The local police recovered the newly born baby boy from the possession a woman early on Tuesday morning who had stolen him from the gynae ward and had concealed in another home.

Sub-divisional police officer, Chitral Abdul Sattar Khan told the media that the wife of one Hazratud Din from Sheshi Koh valley had given birth to a baby boy last night while the accused woman Hamida Bibi had come to know about the birth who had come there to meet one of her relatives.

He said that the woman decided to pick the baby for which she waited there find a chance and she did it in the early dawn when she found the mother and her attendant sleeping and made away with the baby.

Mr. Khan said that the mother was fortunate enough to wake up soon after it and told her husband who rushed to the police station where the SHO Nasir Ali started search for the baby and recovered him from a house in Rehankot and arrested both the abductor woman Hamida Bib and her facilitator Sidra.

He said that this was the first incident of crime of its nature in the history of Chitral as never before it, a newly born baby had been stolen or abducted from the hospital.

The father of the baby, Hazratud Din told the media that he had two daughters and no son and he was thankful to the police for recovering his baby within a short span of less one hour and the joy of his wife knew no bounds after recovering the baby.

The woman belonged to Izz village of Garam Chashma and had married to one Sher Afzal of Thana of Malakand Agency.

The death anniversary of Benazir Bhutoo celebrated in Chitral

CHITRAL: The death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto was celebrated in Chitral city and Booni town here on Tuesday.

In Chitral city, the workers gathered at town hall in a local hotel in which local leaders of PPP including MPA Salim Khan, Muhammad Hakim , Syed Burhan Shah addressed the workers and highlighted the sacrifices of the Bhutto family for democracy in the country.

They expressed their resolve to carry on the mission of their slain leader and strengthen the foundation of democracy for which she sacrifised her life.

In Booni town of Upper Chitral, a function was held in the local hotel to celebrate the death anniversary addressed by Amirullah Khan, Hameed Jalal, Shahbuddin, Durdana Shah and others.

The speakers said that it was Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto who started work on Lowari Tunnel project and familiarized the people of this backward district with modern facilities of eduction, healthcare and electricity.

They said that Benazir Bhutto also visited the district every whenever she was in power and the people reciprocated the lov Later on, a rally was taken out from PTDC motel which concluded in Booni chowk.
