Southern districts of KP demands CPEC through DI Khan to Hasan Abdal

ISLAMABAD: The elders and elected parliamentarians of southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have asked the government to actualize the initial rout of China Pakistan Economic Cooridor (CPEC) going through DI Khan, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Karak, Kohat and then to Hasan Abdal through Attock bridge with full facilities like six lines road, Railway Line, Optic fiber line and LNG.

A meeting was called in a local hotel here by Rehmat Salam Khattak, provincial general secretary of PML-N, which was attended by elders and provincial and federal parliamentarians of Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Bannu and Lakki Marwat of all political parties.

It was demanded that the very initial rout of CPEC should be actualized with all facilities. For effect a committee which will negotiate with all stakeholders including provincial, federal government and army chief. Committee members are Afrasiyab Khattak, Salim Saifullah Khan, MNA Col Amirullah Marwat, MNA Shehriyar Afridi, provincial ministers Malik Qasim Khan, Shah Mohammad Wazir, MPA Zarin Zia Marwat, MPA Malik Riaz, Rehmat Salam Khattak and Abbas Afridi.

The committee will take provincial government on board and political leaders like Maulan Fazalur Rehman, Ameer Haider Hoti, Aftab Sherpao and ask the federal government to give due share to the southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in CPEC. The will call on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Army Chief Raheel Sharif and Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal and pursue the case of KP southern districts.

It was also decided in meeting that they will take every step to compel the government to make the corridor going through these districts, which was the initial rout that was decided with Chinese authorities which has been confessed by Ahsan Iqbal on many occasions. They demanded that the Indus Highway may be developed as six lines motorway which is the shortest rout.

They said that if their demands were not fulfilled, they start protest and all the people of these districts will give dharnas in Peshawar and Islamabad.
