Defence Day celebrates at Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Kuragh

KURAGH: The important event of Defence Day is held every year on 6th September in commemoration of the valour of the national heroes, who at the cost of their lives defended their beloved motherland in the war of 1965. In this connection, students of Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Kuragh observed the day to pay tribute to the brave Pakistani soldiers who embraced martyrdom in defense of their country.

The celebration formally began with the recitation of the holy verses and sacred naat. Students presented many other items including speeches, tableau, drama, national songs and parody. Through various activities they refreshed the historical event and manifested the unconditional love and sacrifices rendered by the defenders of the country. The speech by Naila Kamarzar, student of Grade 12 stirred the audience up to brood over the bleak circumstances prevailing in Pakistan and appealed to them to make a  difference by recalling the message of the forefathers of the nation and by being loyal, honest and sincere in their daily matters. The other items also showed different perspectives of Pakistan since its inception.

The guest of honour Mr Kamarzar Khan, Principal Government High School Charun later on addressed the audience stating that 6th September is the most significant day when our army alongside the public made a history. He then encouraged and praised the students for their hard work and untiring efforts in arranging such a program.

Then the principal of the school Ms Sultana Burhanuddin thanked the guests. She reiterated the fact that the martyrs of 1965 had strong resolution as a result we hold our head high in the global world. The Principal advised the students to be imbued with the same determination, to do hard work to make their country progress, and uphold the ethical values of Islam.
