Multi stake-holders workshop held

By Zahiruddin

CHITRAL: In the multi stake-holders workshop held by the planning and finance department of the district government, the elected representatives of the local bodies and the district officers of various executing departments of the provincial government made deliberations to formulate district development plan here on Tuesday.

Addressing on the occasion, the district nazim Maghfirat Shah said that the development plan as envisaged by the forum will form a base for planning in various sectors of
development in future and coherence in various development projects will be ensured due to the coordination among different actors of development.

He said that the district government has planned to evolve a wide-ranging strategy based on the prioritization of the basic issues and needs as enunciated by the community in
close coordination of the government officials of relevant government departments.

Mr. Shah said that in the previous system, there was a lack of coordination and cohesion between different government departments in different sectors of development which led
to creation of multiple problems subsequently.

The commandant of Chitral Scouts, Colonel Nizamud Din Shah and deputy commissioner Chitral Osama Ahemd Warraich were also in attendance.

Most of the issues as pinpointed by the elected representatives and the community based organizations, were the rehabilitation of the infrastructures damaged by the flash flood,
glacial lake outburst floods in July last and the devastating earthquake in October last.
