Finance Minister invites foreign investment in KP

PESHAWAR: The KP Finance Minister Muzaffar Said Advocate has said that Iftar parties increased the beauty and attraction of this holy month and hence people especially youth should arrange such programs jointly to promote harmony and brotherhood in them. He was talking to participants in Iftar party arranged by Telenor cellular company at local hotel Peshawar. It was also participated by Minister Excise and Taxation Mian Jamshedudin Kakakhel who termed Iftar programs by various business and social circles a good omen for encouraging environment if fraternity.

Muzaffar Said Advocate continued that though Iftar programs at official level have been banned by his govt with the aim to stop wastage of public funds and promote austerity in officialdom however KP govt always encouraged such programs. He contended that peace in the province inculcated spirit in the masses to participate in various business, social and political activities that he said was in-fact the milestone of KP govt. He reaffirmed commitment of his provincial government to ensuring peace, tranquility, improving law and order situation and creating congenial atmosphere for boosting socio economic activities in the province adding that KP govt was also endeavoring for this purpose from the very first day of coming at the helm of affairs. He said the fact of the environment of peace and development in KP by dint of our candid steps has been well acknowledged at national and international fora that is termed exemplary and far better than rest of the country. He maintained that there are abundant potentials and resources in KP especially in communication, tourism, hydle power generation, minerals and manpower sectors and hence invited the entire world community to invest here with confidence to exploit it for larger human welfares accordingly.

The minister termed the huge investment and marvelous development in mobile, tele-communication and media sectors a good omen adding that it was not only fast removing distances and bridging gulf between nations, cultures and civilizations but greatly helping peoples to promote awareness, mutual cohesion, increasing skills and capabilities of youth and enhance job prospects not only in KP but in the entire region. He said KP govt was promoting information technology on concrete footings to improve service delivery system. He hoped that our IT equipped youth will accept the challenge of introducing our high Islamic values, cultures, traditions and message it world over through internet and social media. "We have to promote our rich culture with pride instead of getting impressed of others in prevailing era of cultural onslaughts", he added. He also asked the telecom companies to prefer local youth in jobs and harness their talents. Similarly he said the national and multinational telecom and IT companies are also duty bound to respect our religious and cultural values.
The company Vice President Aslam Hayat and Manager Coordination appreciated investment climate of KP and reiterated their pledge of coverage expansion of the mobile services to all cities and towns of the province and adjoining tribal belt with increased value additions.
