Mastuj Sub Division will get electricity soon.... DC
CHITRAL: Deputy Commissioner Chitral Osama Ahmed Warraich
has said that the Mastuj sub-division of Chitral will start getting
electricity from the national grid where 16 thousand households
were without electric power supply for the last eleven months as
the Reshun hydro power station was swept away by glacial lake
outburst flood in July 25 last.
Talking to Chitral Times here on Tuesday, he said that the chief
engineer of Peshawar Electric Supply Company, after visiting
Chitral the other day has declared the connection of upper Chitral
with national grid quite possible and the connection process may
take a month.
He said that the chief engineer had arrived here on the direction
of Chairman WAPDA, Zafar Mahmud, who was approached by the people
of upper Chitral with the request for power supply from the
national grid as the reconstruction of Reshun power station may
take a year or more.
Mr. Warraich said the PESCO engineer has also assured that the
issue of the low voltage for Chitral city from the national grid
will also be solved by installing a number of additional gadgets in
the local grid station.
He said that the issue of electricity supply to the upper Chitral
had become a potential source of breach of peace and tranquility of
the area taking out procession had become the order of the day.
