FM hints at focus on technical education in budget

Chitral Times Report

PESHAWAR: KP Finance Minister Muzaffar Said Adsvocate has revealed that teachers’ community would also receive special incentives like other segments of society in the forthcoming budget. Sufficient funds are being allocated both for conventional and technical education in the budget and hence teachers must motivate children for education in trade and skills. He said there was big demand of the hardworking labours of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in western and gulf countries. However he regretted that lack of skills deprived them of jobs there the basic reason of which was the negligence of past regimes in this regard. He deplored that previous rulers did not give heed to the proper education and training of valiant Pakhtun youth and instead handed them over bogus certificates that did not work to provide them respectable jobs in the market while their parents were also disappointed who spent all their hard earned money on education and training of their wards. The Minister made clear that this sorry state of affairs would be changed in future wherein a new autonomous body under Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) has been revitalized to take charge of all the technical and vocational training centers of the province and start classes in new realistic manner wherein the outgoing youth from these centers would get jobs for sure.

He was talking to various delegations of teachers at office Civil Sectt Peshawar including KP College Teachers Association led by NasrUllah Khan Yousafzai, Schools Officers Association led by SamiUllah Khalil and Tanzeem-e-Asatiza. The delegations apprised him of their problems and demands viz time scale formula for teachers, PSB, regularization of adhoc lecturers and budget incentives. Finance Minister said that we would come up to great expectations and aspirations of people specially the youth at all costs. He said that we would produce such skilled and talented youth that besides abroad would be also acceptable to our local business and industries to promote and develop it on modern lines. He said that nobody would dare to give bogus training and bogus certificate to our youth in future as he said we have made legislation in all walks of life and evolved effective system of reward and punishment in our officialdom.

The Minister said that new classes of technical and vocational training have been started in the province with a spirit of innovation whose standard would speak its grandeur by itself. He said that teachers and students of all the skill centers would also get orders of manufacturing on commercial basis that besides enhancing the training and experience of the students would also create means of income for them while these outgoing youngsters would become job givers and not job seekers in practical life. He asked the teaching staff of the vocational centers to work hard and focus their attention on result oriented training of youth to enable them to get progress and prosperity with more speed than Europe. He assured that if these teachers showed outstanding performance and the outgoing students got prompt jobs in various public and private sectors then provincial govt besides giving them one step promotion as per their demand would also extend them other incentives with open heart. He said that a new era of peace and industrialization was being ushered in Khyber Pakthtunkhwa due to realistic steps of the coalition govt and our youth had to take full benefits of such conducive environment.
