Two more students dead bodies recovered from snow avalanche
CHITRAL: The dead bodies of the last two of the nine
students were recovered buried under the snow avalanche in Susoom
village here on Tuesday afternoon after forty five days of their
burial under the snow.
Talking to Chitral Times by telephone, the Member of zilla council
from Karimabad, Muhammad Yaqub said that the personnel of Chitral
Scouts, Chitral Levies and police and the local volunteers had
continued their work of clearing the snow avalanche from the site
on daily basis in search of the dead bodies.
He said that the dead bodies of Amir Ilahi son of Amir Ali and
Aftab Ali Shah son of Munawar Shah, both residents of Susoom, were
spotted lying side by side during the course of clearance of snow
with which the search operation for the bodies came to an end.
Mr. Yaqub said that both the bodies were in good condition and had
yet to be start decamping and no explicit injuries were seen on any
part of their bodies despite the passage of one-and-half month.
He appreciated the role of commandant of Chitral Scouts colonel
Niazmud Din Shah, Chitral DC Osama Ahmed Warraich and Asif Iqbal
Muhmand for providing their respective forces of Chitral Scouts,
Levies and police for carrying out search operation.
Nine students of Parsan village had been hit by the snow avalanche
on March 19 last in Susoom village while going back to their
village after appearing in a paper of matriculation examination.
