First death anniversary of Shaheed Captain Muhammad Ajmal held

CHITRAL: The first death anniversary of captain Ajmal Khan, the first every commissioned officer of Pak Army from Chitral who embraced martyrdom, was held here on Sunday in a local hotel.

Commandant of Chitral Scouts colonel Nizamud Din Shah and district nazim Chitral Maghfirat Shah were the guests of honor on the occasion while people from all walks of life including the relatives and friends of the martyred officer had turned out in large number.

Through the slide show, the different stages of his life were showcased which included his interests and leisure time pastime and his gallantry and heroic acts in the preliminary days of his career all of which proved him to be a man of extra-ordinary genius and courage.

He had lost his life during the operation zarb-e-Azb while leading his troops against the terrorist in Khyber Agency in April 30 last year.

His father Muhammad Ghazi Khan and uncle and mentor Yar Muhmamd Khan shared with the audience his sweet memories of childhood and told how he was imbibed with the spirit of defending and dying for his country for which he chose to join the Pak Army.

They said that they had the honour to bring up a person like captain Ajmal who translated his words of childhood into action by sacrificing his life while purging his motherland of its enemies.

Addressing on the occasion, colonel Nizamud Din Shah and Maghfirat Shah highlighted the importance of sacrifice of life for the country and the sanctity of each and every blood of those laying their lives for the purpose.

They said that the history of Pak Army was full of young soldiers like captain Ajmal who left the world in the prime of their youth for the country and that the army was fully capable to defend the country against the internal and external aggression.

The district nazim announced to chalk out a comprehensive program for commemorating all the martyrs of Pak Army and militia hailing from Chitral.

Those who also addressed on the occasion included former MPA Saeed Ahmed Khan, Muhmmad Khalid, Muhammad Javed Hayat , Maulana Hussain Ahmed and others.




JI hold a rally against corruption

CHITRAL: A rally was taken out by Jamaat-e-Islami from Al-Markaz Islami Denin in connection with corruption free Pakistan campaign led by its district amir Maulana Jamshed
Ahmed here on Sunday.

The rally turned into a public meeting in PIA chowk which was addressed by party leaders Maulana Sher Aziz, Hedayatullah and others who demanded weeding out corruption in all its forms and shapes from the country which was going to plague it.

The speakers also subjected to criticism the PTI leader Imran Khan for his farce campaign against corruption while one of his close associates, Jahangir Tareen also happened to have offshore companies in Panama.

They asked the people to side with JI to rise against the corrupt who had made lives miserable for the poor by their corruption.
