An Earthquake jolted Chitral district, seven

CHITRAL: Strong earthquake jolted Chitral and various other
parts of the country on Sunday afternoon, shaking buildings in
Chitral town and other parts of district, witnesses and the US
Geological Survey (USGS) said. The magnitude recorded was 7.1.
The USGS said the quake was centered near Chitral at a depth of 210
KM. Tremors were also felt in Shangla, Kohistan, Battgram, Mansehra
and in Swat, witnesses said, forcing residents to leave homes,
Markets and Masjid. There were no immediate reports of damages
while seven injured persons have been admitted in DHQ
Telephone and mobile networks, have reportedly been disrupted in
the affected areas and an emergency has been declared at all
hospitals across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Meanwhile NDMA official has said that an earthquake measuring 7.1
Mw at a depth of 236 Km is recorded in Hindu Kush Range.
Possibility of aftershocks cannot be ruled out and therefore
extreme caution is warraned by all. National Emergency Operations
Center (NEOC) is operational round the clock at NDMA. All agencies
and departments are on board. Search and Rescue Operation with the
support of Pakistan Army, Airforce and local authorities stands
