Survey for Installation of transmission lines
started in Chitral
CHITRAL: The MNA from Chitral, Shahzada Iftikharud Din has said
that the problem of acute shortage of power and low voltage will be
solved in Chitral once and for all with the provision of 30 mega
watt electricity from the Golen Gol Hydro Power Project for survey
of the transmission lines to different valleys has been started as
per directives of the prime minister.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he said that a
number of grid stations were being established in upper and lower
parts of Chitral for this purpose while no off-grid village will
remain without being electrified.
He said that the 30-MW electricity will also lead to materialize
the much awaited marble city at Gang near Drosh which is pending
for want of electricity which will act as catalyst for economic
activities as thousands of jobs will be created.
The law-maker said that the work on the transmission line will be
completed by June next year and the grids will be energized the
same time while a number of other power projects were also on the
anvil including that of upgradation of the WAPDA hydro power
station in Chitral with the financial assistance of France for
which a huge amount of 1.5 billion rupees were being released.
He eulogized the prime minister for his earnest and sincere efforts
for the development of road infrastructures in Chitral for which he
had announced construction of Shandur, Bumburate and Garam Chashma
“The consultants were being hired by the NHA for carrying out
survey work on the road projects and happened in shortest possible
time which shows how the PM is true to his words”, the MNA said.
